SCHOOL OF STUDIES IN ZOOLOGY & BIOTECHNOLOGY

The department is a prestigious centre of graduation, post-graduation and research studies established b Prof. Har Swaroop in 1961. The institution has well equipped laboratories and has established new research laboratory of Animal cell culture and Genetic Engineering. The department has produced 3 D.Sc. and more than 200 Ph.D. The department has also successfully completed several research projects sponsored by MPCST, DST NVDA, ICMA, GC and Gail India Ltd.

Research Activities 

The department has 25 research scholars’ enrolment in the institution. They are performing research in various areas of Zoology and Biotechnology. Apart from this the students are also engaged in various research activities such as developing bioplastics, herbal chocolates, insect repellents etc. 

Infrastructure 

The School of Studies in Zoology & Biotechnology boasts a well-equipped infrastructure, featuring a Zoological Museum that show cases diverse specimens for educational purposes. It also includes a library, an advanced instrumentation room for experimental research. 

Achievements 

The students have been provided seed money from the Higher Education M.P. Government for their innovative startup of Herbal chocolates and Bioplastics. 

Student Activities

The students actively participate in a variety of extracurricular and community-based initiatives organised by department, NSS and NCC which promotes social responsibility and discipline. The department also conducts cleanliness drive, UGC green gradated programme, science bazar, workshops, lectures and seminar for a holistic development of students.
